Welcome Back to a New Year at St Mary’s (2025)

A new school year has begun, and St Mary’s is already buzzing with excitement, achievements, and fresh opportunities for pupils to thrive.

Welcome back to a brand new school year!

It has been a joy to see the children return after the summer break, full of enthusiasm and ready to learn. We’ve had a very positive and successful start to the term, and I’d like to thank you all for your continued support in helping the children come back to school prepared and excited for the year ahead.

A particularly warm welcome goes to our new Reception pupils and their families. The children have settled incredibly well into school life, quickly adapting to new routines and making new friends. We are very proud of how confident, curious and eager they have been – a fantastic start to their learning journey with us.

I’m also pleased to share that the School Council have already been busy this term and have gathered pupil voice to make an important decision. After thoughtful discussion and a vote, they have chosen the NSPCA as our school charity for the year. We look forward to supporting this important cause through various fundraising events and activities.

Over the last week, we have also seen the completion of our building works. We now have a brand-new roof on part of the school, along with 64 solar panels installed to help us reduce our environmental impact. In addition, the middle part of the school now benefits from modern electric heating.

As we look ahead, there is so much to be excited about this year. From upcoming trips and assemblies to performances, sports and PTA events, the calendar is already filling up with opportunities for our pupils to thrive and shine both inside and outside the classroom.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support. We are looking forward to another fantastic year of learning, growth and ‘Bringing out the Best in each other’.
